Airbnb Rescue

I rented an Airbnb for a trip back home.

It looked okay in the pictures and while it was, on the surface, serviceable, it was unbelievably dreary in person.

I was exhausted by the trip and slept for 11 hours the first night. I woke up and was immediately discouraged. The trip had been planned for many reasons but one of them was to rest and recharge. I knew I could not do that in this place. All I wanted was out but the payment was nonrefundable.

As I lay in bed the next night, I asked the Universe to please get me out of here with my hands clean and my finances intact. As usual, my habit is to imagine a basket in the air next to me and then I reach up and drop in my request.

At about 4 in the morning, I arose to use the bathroom. What did the light suddenly reveal? Creepy crawlies. Use your imagination.

I was packed and gone in 10 minutes. I left the landlord and the Airbnb a message.

Within 20 minutes, I had a refund and I found a new place. The new place is perfect. Even though the street is busy, there always seems to be a parking space in front.

Trust the Universe!

Don't tell her, it's a secret...

My niece often tasks me with things to manifest.

She'll tell me, "I need to sell some furniture. Manifest some buyers."

Sometimes, she'll say, "I need this meeting to go well, manifest that for me."

I always answer that I will.

I think she thinks there is some magical ritual that I do.

I don't.

Well, I guess, in a way, I do.

I say yes and then I immediately turn it over to the Universe.

Sometimes, I actually mime picking something up and dropping it in the Universe's lap.

So, I guess there is some ritual involved.

There is no magic involved.

The Universe loves us and wants us to be happy.

I just believe it.

Works every time.

P.S. If you read this blog, could you leave a comment? I'd like that.

Still Surprised

My favorite astrologer, Elsa, at ElsaElsa.com wrote about her diagnosis via ChatGPT of Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS). I was fascinated because I have many of the same symptoms. Could one central problem cause all the other problems I wondered.

I consulted ChapGPT who agreed I probably had MCAS. As I recently moved to the rural South, I was despairing of finding a doctor that understood, let alone treated, MCAS.

So I searched on Google and, lo and behold, I found a Harvard-trained expert of MCAS 20 minutes from my home.

I don't know why I'm still shocked and surprised when the Universe shows up for me but this was a wow moment. To add joy to joy, I like him immensely.

So now I've embarked on a treatment plan that may change my whole life.

It's a wonderful life!

Semi-deep in the South

Spending some time in a southern state.

Sharing a house with my niece.

We are sympatico.

No traveling for right now.

Still trusting the Universe for everything.

Just got a bird feeder.

Yes, I've reached that stage in life where I want to watch birds.

Laugh if you want, some day you will be old and you will understand.

So devastated that Catherine O'Hara died.

She was 71, I'm 68.

Is this how death comes?

You are just bowling along, full of piss and vinegar, and then, boom, you're gone.

Seems unfair.

But so it goes.

Someone read this

I haven't been on here in forever and I checked the stats and someone is reading this blog. Which is weird, since no one reads my blog.

Oh, well, mystery forever, I guess.

I sold the house, I've invested the money (well, most of it) with a professional. I went to Florence for a month. When I got on the plane, I had a cold, when I got off, I had a sinus infection. Yeah, it wasn't fun but I soldiered on. Got 2 Z paks, still didn't get better, went home.

It's been a bit of a rough patch. I really lost the whole gratitude and positivity for a time. When you don't have a house to distract you, you suddenly notice a myriad of problems that you never had time to focus on.

But I'm back.

Back to gratitude and back to traveling.

Met a lovely German couple when we both missed a connecting flight. Didn't get their number. So mad at myself. They were some simpatico. Told the Universe, more of that please.

I'm not going to travel in Europe in September again. It's too hot. Right now, I am practicing self-care. I can't wait to see how people's brains explode that I am not running all over this city, gobbling culture like a starving dog. It's been here for thousands of years, people, it's not going anywhere!

After a few days of taking care of myself, I feel ready to jump into sight-seeing. Okay, I feel ready to toddle into sight-seeing.

Think of starting a travel blog.

The Universe Comes Through - As Usual

 Ignore my last lamentations!

The house was under contract in less than 2 weeks.

It's been a tiny bit rocky working out all the details but we've come to an agreement.

The movers have been engaged, I'm spending my time looking for boxes, and making decisions.

Moving day is 12/22 and the actual settlement is 12/28.

Then, I will be free to do WHATEVER I want.

Hoping to leave for Florence in February.

The Universe has been incredible throughout, of course!

I realized that I have spent nearly 10 years just working on this relationship.

I'm so glad I did.

Trust the Universe loves you and everything else will fall into place.

AAARRGH!

Why did I wait so long to sell my house?

I feel like a complete idiot.

I could have sold in a couple of days a year ago.

Now I have only had 4 showings in more than a week.

I don't know how I could have so badly misjudged this!

It takes all my energy to stay positive.

If I can manifest a seller for this house quickly, it will be my greatest manifestation.

Cue the law of attraction!

Still surprised...

Wow, haven't written anything in forever! Doesn't matter because I'm apparently only talking to myself!

Finally selling the house so I can travel.

Had to clear out 85 years of accumulated "stuff" from the basement and garage. Yes, we've owned the house for 85 years. Unusual, I know.

I've been trying to do it bit by bit, but that wasn't cutting it.

So, I hired someone from TaskRabbit. He was fantastic. In about 4 hours, we cleared everything out. Cost me about 199 and I added a generous tip. So, say, $200 and change.

I paid the bill. I left a review. I got up to get the mail.

In the mail was a check. A check from Nissan. I recently purchased by lease from Nissan. The check didn't have a letter. The check stub didn't really say what it was for. Some kind of overpayment on my lease apparently.

It was for $211.00

So, I paid out $200 and immediately got $200 back.

I really love the Universe!

The Universe Listens

So, I've basically been home during the Great Pandemic of 2020.

I haven't been receiving funds from the PUA for months.

I had the idle thought a few days ago that I really should look for a job.

Today, I have two interviews for jobs.

You know this trusting the Universe thing really works.

I am so relaxed about both jobs.

I started to worry and then I thought everything comes together for my greater good and the Universe will send me something great.

I am going to spend about 5 minutes thinking about what I would like in a job and then I'm going to just relax and let the Universe provide for me.

Staggered by My Blessings!

So......

Turns out I qualify for the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance.

Honestly, when I realized I qualified you could have knocked me over with a feather.

Also qualified for the 3-month stimulus.

So, yes, money is coming in without me doing anything.

It's funny but right before I qualified I was applying for jobs that I could do at home. Mostly answering phones, customer service. (I want to add here that despite applying to many places, no one ever hires me!)

As I was applying I clearly heard the admonition, "Wait," in my head. Needless to say, I was startled.

Even though I was a bit taken aback, I decide to listen. Over the course of a week, I heard it several times. (Um, no, I do not hear voices. This was the first time, swear to God!)

I didn't quality for regular unemployment and I had tried to apply for the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance but got frustrated with the system.

During the "wait" week, I decided in the middle of the night to try it again. It took a couple of hours, and a lot of button pushing but I received a notice immediately that I qualified.

I have to admit I was a bit stunned.

But I don't know why I'm still stunned.

If you rely on the Universe it will take care of you.

Beautifully!

Oddly perfect, perfectly odd

I'm sort of staggered by where we find ourselves with the Corona virus.

I really am amazed though how many areas of concern this virus has touched:

  1. Danger of people not believing in science.
  2. Trump is a jackass.
  3. How Republicans can't govern (how you can you govern when you despise government?)
  4. Job creators (as we all knew) have no meaning to the economy and workers are the economy.
  5. Rich people, bankers, stock brokers, etc are in no way essential to society but nurses, doctors, grocery store clerks, truck drivers, and delivery people are.
  6. Universal health care is absolutely necessary and for profit medicine is a disaster.
  7. Scope and angers of income inequality
I'm sure there are more but I'm just hitting the highlights.

I can't help but think that all the talking in the world would not illuminate all these issues as well as one lone virus.

One simple and elegant (but deadly) answer to a myriad of questions.

I am simply astounded by the elegance of the Universe.

Just trusting the Universe

So I have a phone interview today with a headhunter and an in-person interview with a temp agency tomorrow.

Am I nervous?

Nope.

I no longer get nervous or unnerved about these things.

It's not like I don't need the jobs or the money.

I do.

It's just that when you trust the Universe to bring you exactly what you need you just learn to go with the flow.

Case in point. I called the temp agency when prompted by the Universe. It just seemed like a good time to call. Not first thing in the morning or first thing in the week. Just I'm thinking about this and Abraham says to do something when you think of it. So I did.

The temp agency sent me one of the form emails with a ton of things I should do. Did I do them? Nah. I found my passport because I need two forms of ID. I filled out most of their online interview program.  That seems enough.

I picked this agency because they supply temps to a college I always thought I'd work for. Don't know why, just a feeling.

Let's see how it goes...

Small Discoveries

So I've been letting things go and just trusting.

I went to the cellar today to look for Xmas wrapping paper.

When I went into the garage, I found some Xmas bags and tissue paper on a shelf, that I had clearly forgotten all about. Excellent! No wrapping, just popping things in bags with tissue paper!

While I was looking around the garage, I realized that I had a TV stand larger than the one in the living room.

I've been contemplating buying a larger tv and was already shopping vicariously for a tv stand.

How nice that one just turned up in the garage!

Small things, I know. But the small things show that the Universe cares about everything you care about.

Just trust and let go.

A Bit of a Lull

Not going to lie, things are a bit stuck right now.

There have been some ups and some downs, some minor inconveniences, some lulls in creation.

I'm going to blame it on Mercury Retrograde.

As much as I just want things to move forward, I'm taking this as a good opportunity to just trust the Universe.

You'll see it when you believe it....

So remember my last post, in which you hold and trust the Universe?

In the "You can't make this stuff up" category, I just received a phone call about a job.

A temp job.

Working completely from home.

At a higher rate than my last job.

Which starts Monday.

Because they really need somebody.

Yeah, 'cause that's how all this works.

Saying "No" Confidently

So my last temp job has no work for me.

First offer, temp opportunity in Lansdale.

No, thanks, too far.

Email today, permanent opportunity, Princeton, NJ.

No, thanks, too far.

How can I turn down opportunities?

Because I have complete trust in the Universe, that's why.

I've noticed that some duds trickle in before the real gold.

I don't know why.

As I see it, it's like the Universe asking if you will believe and hold it for the prize.

Yeah, I will.

Little Things..

It's the little things that I notice.

I was looking for a certain kind of scissors for a project. I had them on my list to buy.

I was looking through a drawer today for my usual scissors and as I fished around in the drawer I came up with a pair of scissors I didn't even know I owned that are perfect for the project.

So that happened.

I also decided I needed a pair of white sandals for the summer. Also on the list.

I've been cleaning out the basement and I reached for a bin stuffed back on a table and inside I found several pairs of shoes that I haven't seen in a couple of years.

Was there a pair of white sandals in said bin?

Why, yes. Yes, a pair of white sandals just materialized.

Okay, they didn't materialize. I bought them several years ago and somehow they ended up in the cellar, probably stored for the winter.

Nonetheless, up they popped, just when I needed them.

Which perfectly illustrates how LOA works and how you manifest. Don't get yourself all bent and twisted.

Just calmly make a note of what you need and know somehow what you need will turn up just when you need it.

That's how this all works.

Hmm, what do I put on my list next?

Mirabile dictu....

I'm sort of still amazed at how the Universe comes through for me.

Lately work has completely slacked off. So no money coming in. It's been a bummer, not gonna lie.

Also, had a bout of diverticulitis, ended up in ER. More money going out.

On top of everything, on Mother's Day, I noticed a leak in the bedroom ceiling. I was on my way to my sister's house and I freaked out at little. In fact, I was kinda ticked off all day.

When I went to sleep, I was thinking about how to fix the leak. Then, it dawned on me, I have insurance. Oh, right. Well, then.

I make a survey of Yelp and picked out an insurance adjuster. He was a very nice and competent person. He advised that I would probably only net about $2000.00 for the repairs to the roof and ceiling. Okay, fine. Leak stopped, ceiling drywall repaired. I'm good.

Several weeks later and one visit from the insurance person, I received an email last night that they want to bring over a check for more than $11,000.

Say what now?

I know nothing about insurance so I always hire adjusters on the rare instances that I have any problems.

I would say I'm stunned but rather I am pleased.

It no longer stuns me how well the Universe takes care of me. Quite frankly, all I want to do in future is remember that the Universe is much better at solving my problems than I am!

Miracles happen...

Amazing Universe

Still working freelance. Same place. About 20 minutes from my house (with a DD on the way). Sometimes I work from home. Sometimes I go in.

Office is in great old building that used to be a ship factory. There's no elevator besides a service elevator so I climb 24 concrete steps to get to work. Then I have to walk a city block to get to my office. Yes, the Universe managed to get me free exercise as well as a job! At first, admittedly, I just hated it, but now, after a couple of weeks, I'm used to it. I go up and down them a lot faster now!

The office is full of young kids, they're adorable! They bring their dogs to work! Honestly, it's like the offices you see on tv shows. They have literally baskets of munchies around. They're always a snack if you're peckish. Plus, they constantly have meetings, which means there is always food. I almost never have to buy lunch!

The work is very interesting and fast-paced. The day goes by fast, which I like. I'm picking up ad agency work and lingo very fast.

But, wait, as they say on tv, there's more!

There is a spot to drop off charitable donations on the way home. Yes, I literally have no reason to not clean out the cellar now.

I just love letting the Universe organize my life!

They like me! They really really like me!

Well, the Universe comes through again.

Had interview on Thursday.

Thought it went well.

Didn't hear anything though until Wednesday, which was alright by me, since I'm still recovering from miserable cold.

The agency finally called and said they loved me. They want to bring me on freelance, which means I can work from home. They will get back to me with start date.

YES!

Just in the nick of time. As usual.

That's just how the Universe and I roll.

It's nice having the Universe as a friend!
